We erase the burden of doom and gloom by acknowledging the paradoxical and multi-dimensional nature of existence, as evidenced by all our experiences when we take a good look around without letting our culturally derived blinders get in the way of our naked perception.

The revolutionary and transformative energy of Pluto is also available to us now, and helps by razing old and outworn psychic and societal structures that are ready to be discarded. Just as in the charismatic sixties, when Pluto and Uranus collided with Saturn opposed, we are entering now upon another such time, with Pluto in Saturn's sign of Capricorn and Uranus coming into closer and closer square with Pluto over the next four years. Following the Spring Equinox by a day and a half, the Aries-Libra Full Moon of March 21st forms a T-Square with Pluto and reminds us of the possibility, even the necessity, of massive transformation in our lives. Perhaps Bob Dylan – poet laureate of that earlier revolutionary era – put it best when he said that "everybody not busy being born is busy dying."

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon degree in Pisces is instructive: "A gigantic tent," symbolizing the incredible and multifaceted variety of experience that falls into our ken at this climactic time in the turning of the ages. At the very same time that we fully embody concrete reality, as indeed we must if we are to survive, we must also finally begin again to acknowledge our essential nature as spirits moving in the material world, ethereal and not fully at home here. There is nothing wrong with the paradox implicit in this idea, only with the limits of our vision to see our world entire and whole. We (all) win when we embrace the paradox and see the wonder, along with the challenges, of our current situation.

Current Moon Configurations

March 7th New Moon
This is a potent New Moon configuration that exactly conjuncts Uranus in Pisces, just as Uranus is sextiled by Jupiter. The aspect with Jupiter that is triggered by the Sun and Moon at this time becomes closer as the month unfolds, bringing new ideas into play. At the time of the New Moon also, Mars in Cancer exactly opposes Pluto in Capricorn, making for an extremely powerful dynamic, especially for those born in the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Anger could come up for any of us at this time, and hopefully also the recognition of our reactivity and the chance to move beyond it. Since Mercury and Venus conjoin Neptune at this time as well, in a triple conjunction, the possibility of greater consciousness and higher spiritual awareness is definitely an important part of the picture at this time, but with also the possibility of illusion, so that we do well to look closely at all our beliefs and assumptions during this crucial first half of the month.

March 14th First Quarter Moon
This is traditionally a time when the rubber meets the road and when we have to recognize the limitations of what we have dreamed into being at the time of the New Moon a week past. This configuration aspects Neptune. At this time also, Venus enters Pisces, the sign ruled by Neptune, bringing cosmic consciousness a little closer to home for all of us and having the effect of softening the relationship energy that we have for others.

March 21st Full Moon Full Moon
This configuration is both integrating and challenging, in that it occupies the early degrees of Cardinal signs of Aries and Libra, forming a T-Square with Pluto in Capricorn. This Full Moon also brings into greater awareness the forming Saturn – Pluto trine that will perfect in early May. Saturn is Capricorn's ruler and in trine with Pluto implies that we must prepare for a radical transformation of the very structure of our lives, but that the opportunity is also there for a relatively graceful transition. This therefore represents a powerful moment of awareness in a powerful month.

March 29th Last Quarter Moon
This is the phase of the lunation cycle that Dane Rudhyar called a "crisis of consciousness" when we see the limitations of what we formerly espoused, and when we prepare for the seeding of the next New Moon phase, shedding the light of what we have learned through our interactions with others. The Capricorn Moon at this time emphasizes Pluto, while it exactly opposes Mars in Cancer, so that a moment of tension in our process may be revealed. We are seeking at this time to transform the desire nature and ego-orientation that we carry with us as humans and transitional souls. That objective represents the higher intention of this configuration.
