Lovers love to be pleased,
but ultimately end up bored,
or even losing respect for the pleaser.
If my only priority is pleasing her, chances
are I will end up losing my individuality, and then I’ll
have nothing left to contribute to
the relationship besides pleasing her.
In order to be happy, in order to love ourselves,
we have to also prioritize pleasing ourselves, to
prioritize fulfilling our own needs.
Otherwise, chances are we end up not even
respecting ourselves.
